One of the leading causes of homelessness is a person’s lack of healthcare. There are many resources in our community that can be afforded to you at little to no costs if you qualify.
You have options to prevent or treat illness and you should take advantage of that. People who do not tend to their healthcare needs put themselves at risk for life-altering events, including ruined credit, preventable disease, and potential loss of housing stability.

General Health Needs

Clinic Locations: Salinas, Greenfield, King City, Soledad, Castroville, Seaside, Gonzales, and Chualar.
- Services at clinics include medical, dental, optometry, behavioral health, OB/GYN, pediatrics, internal medicine, and orthopedics.
- Cost is on a sliding fee scale. Medicare, Medi-Cal, and Covered California insurance accepted.
- Mobile Clinic serves homeless communities in the Monterey Peninsula, Salinas’s Chinatown District, and the Pajaro River District in Northern Monterey County. This location provides dental and medical care.

- Benefits Counseling – Insurance and benefit programs such as SSI, SSDI, Medi-Cal, Medicare, ADAP, OAHIPP, and private insurance programs can be confusing and daunting to those trying to utilize them.
- Heath Counseling – For clients, family members, and the public, current HIV and AIDS information is vital. ASN’s Health Counselor, provides current treatment information, is a link to the medical community for the agency and, for clients, and can give referrals to physicians, discuss drug side effects and disease progression.
- Housing Services – Finding suitable and stable housing for our clients is one of our highest priorities. ASN’s Housing & Benefits Specialists advises clients, assists with housing searches is the liaison with local housing programs (such as Section 8), and works with clients concerning utilities.
- Financial Assistance – Assistance is available to ASN’s HIV+ clients from the Housing Opportunities for People With AIDS (HOPWA) program:
